  Who's Joe
Joe Jennison
Joe Jennison
Executive Director,
ICCA
If you’ve spent much time out and about in the Corridor’s art and culture scene, you are probably already familiar with Joe Jennison. Jennison, the Executive Director of the Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance, prides himself on his ability to get to 4-5 public events a week. Be it art, music, dance, theater, history or local festivals, Jennison is passionate about discovering, participating in and sharing local culture with others.

In his role as Executive Director, Jennison acts as a spokesperson, advocate and ambassador for the Corridor’s rich cultural community. He is a regular contributor to the Corridor Business Journal, ArtScene and KCCK, and appears every Monday morning as a guest on Z102.9’s very popular Schulte and Swann morning radio show.

Jennison grew up in Burlington, graduated from Iowa State and has lived in Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He’s worked as an arts writer and reviewer, actor, playwright and performer. He volunteers regularly at several local cultural institutions, including as a Grant Wood lookalike at 5 Turner Alley. He is an alum of the Second City Training Center in Chicago and has had nine plays produced at various venues around the country.

“Cup of Joe to Go” is his latest attempt to spread the good word about Eastern Iowa’s great arts and culture scene. It’s his hope that the weekly online column will inspire others to check out the great cultural events that are available each and every day in the Corridor. If you and your organization are interested in having Jennison attend your next public exhibit, festival or event, contact him direct.

“Yes, I’m busy,” he says. “But I always stop to make time for arts and culture. It is, afterall, why I chose to move back to Iowa after 17 years away. Arts and culture IS what makes up the Corridor’s great quality of life.”
